Karen Harrington-Artist Statement

Painting fills my need to create and is my key to reaching inside to transform my passion for color into an outward vision. With my brush I go on an adventure to convey a story or an idea. Being a native of Louisiana and growing up in its natural beauty; I am moved to paint scenes of southern life, music, floras, abstracts and people in everyday activities. I derive joy from the creative process of painting and the endless possibilities to paint keep me excited and challenged. I am in awe of the colors, lines and values that I am blessed to see every day as I continue on my life-long journey as an artist.
