(there is a $5 per day paint fee to use my acrylics poured up into large containers) this is useful if you don't have much paint, you use my paint to start paintings and finish with your tube acrylics.)

This class if good for beginners or advanced students. The assignments will let you work at your own level.
Will cover composition, design, exciting color, value with emphasis on being creative.
Watermedia Supply List
Paint: Any beginner tube acrylic paint set by Liquitex, Golden, Gumbacher, or any brand with a larger set of tubes-need at least 6 colors. You will also need black and white. Bring any other acrylic paints you might have. Don't go out & spend a lot of money just get the basic set unless you just want them. I will be bringing some latex paint for underpaintings. ($5.00 for you to use and many colors)
Brushes: Round brushes that comes to a good point-size 12, and 26 or30(or a large round close to this size). I like Golden Taklon Rounds
Loew Cornell sizes 12 (7000 Round ) and/or size 14 & 26 (7700 Grand Round) Optional; 1" Watercolor Flat; 1/2" Watercolor Flat; IF you have a wide soft blending brush, also bring it..

Paper: D" Arches or Winsor &
Newton 140 lb Hot Press -at least 3 (5 if you are a fast worker) sheets. 22" x 30" in size. I prefer Arches.
Drawing: #2 School Pencil. Permanent black and permanent Red or a set of Permanent Markers. Need the wider permanent markers not ultra fine or fine. We will use these markers for drawing then transferring with light box.
Drawing Paper -22" x 30" index paper or large sketch pad. You may buy index paper from me at .50 each or at Hobby Lobby.
Disposable Palette for acrylic paints. Remember acrylics dry out, need palette with lid. Mist palette often.
Reference Photos-for practice, any subject you like. A couple of things/objects from your home for drawing. Bring something simple & something unique. Bring something you like!
Object you like-Please bring 3 objects that you like. We will make one still life, but we will draw one semi real and then non objective drawing from the objects or your photographs.
Other: Painting Board and Clips--*Masonite shower board-around 25"x 33" or big enough to put the 22" x 30" watercolor paper on board
*bulldog clips. Also, if you have a board that is 23 1/ 2" x 16 1/8" to paint a 1/2 sheet of w/c paper. You may borrow a board from me if you do not have one. Water spray bottle -Chemical Spray bottle for water to spray and keep paper wet. Large soft sponge for wetting watercolor paper. Crayons. A roll of paper towels. You will absorb some water off of paper by rolling the paper towels across surface.
Water Container-for cleaning brushes; Soft Sponge--for wetting paper and lifting paint; Old Tooth Brush-for lifting paint; *Paper Towels bubble wrap, saran wrap, sponges, paper plates. Paper towels!! Optional but fun: Black and white fabric paint in squirt bottle. Also, rubber cement is optional for some excercises.
We are going to be creative & a bit messy, so I suggest that you wear your old painting clothes. Bring a good attitude, a smile & an open mind.
There is a Subway, Dairy Queen and Counter Culture to eat at near my home or bring a sac lunch. We usually eat out as a group 1 day.-there is a refrigerator in studio for a cold lunch.
